The ChatGPT interface with Siri is now the sole AI function on my iPhone 15 Pro Max that I use on a daily basis. I expect Apple to develop more AI tools for Apple Intelligence in the future, with the hope that some of them will be as beneficial as Live Translate. In terms of Apple Intelligence, Apple said that it takes up 4GB of storage on your iPhone prior to the release of iOS 18.2, which distributed the second batch of Apple Intelligence on compatible iPhone phones. But things have changed.
Apple introduced Image Playground, Genmoji, ChatGPT interaction with Siri, and other features in iOS 18.2. Apple Intelligence now takes up 7GB of storage on a compatible iPhone. If your iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, and iPhone 16 Pro only have 128GB of storage, Apple Intelligence quickly climbed from 3% to 5.5%. By the way, the minimum amount of storage on the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro Max is 256GB, providing you a little more room and eliminating the need to worry about how much storage AI is using on your iPhone if you own one of those models.
Apple Intelligence will most likely continue to use more capacity over time, which suggests that additional models, not only the iPhone Pro Max, will ultimately come with 256GB of storage. Because an iPhone requires at least 8GB of RAM to run Apple Intelligence, Apple has already ensured that some models, such as the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, come equipped with 8GB of RAM. After all, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, none of which enable Apple Intelligence, were equipped with only 6GB of RAM. The iPhone SE 4 is also believed to include 8GB of RAM to enable Apple Intelligence.
Although Apple Intelligence may be turned off, doing so opens a bag of worms. Even if you disable Apple Intelligence after it has been installed on your phone, you might not be able to recover all of the storage that your iPhone dedicated to AI.
