Galaxy S25 on Verizon Supports Satellite SOS Messaging via Skylo

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S25 smartphone series during its Galaxy Unpacked event earlier this week. This year, all models are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for the Galaxy Mobile Platform worldwide.

Qualcomm has already announced that the Galaxy S25 series are the first commercial handsets to use Snapdragon Satellite, which enables consumers to send and receive messages via satellite (narrowband NTN) that is natively supported in the Android OS.

Verizon stated the Galaxy S25 series provides a seamless connection to Skylo-powered Satellite SOS messaging. Verizon just introduced the capability, and earlier this month unlocked the worldwide satellite connectivity potential for over a billion devices across a wide range of categories and industrial verticals.

Skylo claims that their satellite network covers places where standard cellular networks are inaccessible, allowing consumers to stay connected in distant or rough settings. Verizon states that for satellite connectivity to operate, the phone must be outside with a line of sight to the satellite and may not work in certain regions of Alaska.

We may anticipate additional carriers to offer satellite connectivity for their clients on the Samsung Galaxy S25 series in the near future.
