Huawei has effectively recovered from US sanctions and has risen to the top ten of the 2024 Global Top 100 R&D Investment rankings.
The โEU Industrial Research & Development (R&D) Investment Scoreboard,โ as the list is formally known, continues to monitor and evaluate industry R&D investment patterns. The EU Commission published it, which tracks the worldโs top 2,000 R&D investments. According to their most recent verified financial records, these corporations account for more than three-quarters of worldwide business sector R&D spending.
Technology advancement relies heavily on research and development (R&D). It is the process of developing new goods, enhancing old ones, and introducing new technology. It aids firms in remaining competitive by fostering innovation and resolving technological issues.
Businesses spend in R&D to experiment with new ideas and improve the efficiency, dependability, and sophisticated features of their goods. Successful R&D may result in new discoveries and significant advances in daily life: in our case, fantastic phones!
Huawei is ranked sixth among the Global Top 100 R&D Investments for 2024. In comparison, Samsung is ranked sixth.
Compared to the previous year, the number of US and EU firms in the top 50 fell by one each, while China and other areas gained one.
The top ten firms increased their R&D spending by 7.5%, while the top 50 expanded by 6.5%. Both statistics were lower than the 7.8% growth witnessed among the top 2,000 firms, as well as the previous yearโs growth rates of 16.9% for the top 10 and 13% for the top 50.
Personally, Iโm waiting for the Huawei Pocket 3, which is expected to come in Q1 2025. Iโm eager to see the R&D thatโs been done in preparation for the Pocket 3 foldable.
The successor to the Pocket 2 (shown above) will come before Samsungโs Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Xiaomiโs Mix Flip 2. According to sources, it will be thinner, smaller, and lighter than its predecessor, with at least two models available, but the specific distinctions are unclear.
