If Ice Universe is right, Samsung is about to teach Apple a thing or two about AI. The prolific leaker claimed in a recent tweet, “The Samsung Galaxy S25 will show Apple what leading AI is.
Many new AI features of S25 have not been disclosed yet, which surprises me.” Samsung has previously said that its New Year’s aim is to become the leader in AI for mobile phones. To that end, owners of a Galaxy S25 series device are said to receive a free Gemini Advanced trial.
Starting with the strong Snapdragon 8 Elite application processor (AP), which may power every Galaxy S25 phone in all countries, Samsung has everything it needs to make a statement about GalaxyAI with its 2025 flagship line. For security reasons, many of the AI tasks performed by the Galaxy S25 range will remain on-device.
There is no reason for Samsung to remove any of the AI services that it launched last year, including Live Translate, picture editing, Note Assist, Interpreter, and Magic Compose. Samsung’s 2025 resolution, paired with Ice Universe’s tweet, suggests that Samsung has been working on some fascinating Galaxy AI features unconnected to anything Google has developed.
If Samsung truly wants to demonstrate Apple what leading AI looks like, we should expect to see some intriguing new AI features offered with the Galaxy S25 series. On January 22, Sammy will showcase the 2025 flagship line during his forthcoming Unpacked event.
When it comes to incorporating AI functions into devices, Samsung and Google outperform Apple. Apple has already published two batches of Apple Intelligence in iOS 18.1 and iOS 18.2, with another batch scheduled for iOS 18.4. If you were to describe Apple’s AI program in one word, it would be “underwhelming.”
With Ice Universe expressing surprise at the absence of leaks about the planned new GalaxyAI features, we may expect a storm of such leaks in the next weeks or surprise during the upcoming Unpacked event.
