There have been rumors for a time that Carl Peiโs company, Nothing, is working on the next-generation Nothing Phone (3), and a recent leak said it will be available in the first quarter of 2025. The phoneโs debut date has been confirmed.
Nothing has announced the release date of what is thought to be the Nothing Phone (3), which is March 4. True to its nature, the business has already begun teasing the smartphone, with the most recent teaser disclosing not just the debut date but also hints at a design update, namely with the rear camera.
The teaser appears to reveal the back camera layout on the Nothing Phone (3), and based on what we can see, the phone will have three rear cameras, a first for a Nothing gadget. The postโs title, โPower in Perspective,โ alluded to the potential of a third telephoto lens joining the primary and ultra-wide angle cameras.
Nothing just posted a set of photographs tagged โWIPโ (work in progress), and while the designs obviously reveal some creative turmoil, they provide a solid indication of the design direction for the phoneโs back panel. Further bolstered by the current teaser, it appears that the Nothing Phone (3) will retain the Glyph Interface, which is not surprising given that it was one of the prominent aspects of the brandโs prior phones, such as the Nothing Phone (2) and Nothing Phone (2a).
The Nothing Phone (3) is expected to be the companyโs first flagship. Until far, Nothingโs phones have been mid-range, but the next model is rumored to use the newest Snapdragon 8 Elite CPU. I believe this makes logical, given the Phone (3) will be Nothingโs first foray into AI-powered capabilities, and a strong processor is required for flawless AI functioning.
Given the companyโs current cooperation with OpenAI, the inventors of the popular chatbot, the Phone (3) might launch with a conversational AI assistant, presumably powered by ChatGPT.
Focusing on AI is a wise decision for Nothing, given its competitors have already hopped on the AI bandwagon. Googleโs Pixel series is built around AI, Samsung made AI a big priority with the Galaxy S25 series, and Apple is obviously investing in Apple Intelligence capabilities for current and future iPhones. It makes perfect sense for Nothing to embrace AI in order to remain competitive.
Aside from what weโve already covered, nothing is known about the next phone, but Iโm sure nothing will stop the teases. And, if youโre searching for an Android phone with personality, the Nothing Phone (3) is definitely worth considering.
