Upcoming Smartphone Launches in January 2025 in India

OnePlus 13R

OnePlus plans to introduce the OnePlus 13R on January 7, 2025, with the flagship OnePlus 13. The OnePlus Ace 5, which made its debut in China in December 2024, is thought to have been rebranded as the OnePlus 13R. The smartphone is likely to target the premium mid-range market, with a number of distinguishing characteristics.

The OnePlus 13R will be available in two gorgeous colour options: Astral Trail and Nebula Noir. The smartphoneโ€™s design will have a huge circular camera module on the back with three sensors and an LED flash. The display will have small, consistent bezels and a hole-punch cutout for the front camera, giving the gadget a clean and futuristic appearance. Physical controls like the power button and volume rocker will be on the right, with an alert slider on the left. The top edge may have an IR sensor, while the bottom has a USB Type-C connector, SIM card slot, speaker grille, and microphone.

According to speculations, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU-powered OnePlus 13R would include AI-enhanced note-taking and photo-editing features.While a 6,000mAh battery is likely to provide ample power, the device will sport a 6.78-inch full-HD+ display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a maximum brightness of 1,600 nits. The back camera setup appears to comprise a 50MP primary sensor, as well as 8MP and 2MP auxiliary sensors.The selfie camera is likely to sport a 16-megapixel resolution. Both smartphones are believed to be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 CPU, which is also present in the Redmi 14 Pro Plus.

The Realme 14 Pro series will stand out because to its sophisticated camera features. Both versions are likely to include a periscope camera and AI Clarity 2.0, which claims to increase the clarity of low-resolution images. The smartphones will also have AI image stabilisation technology installed, which will help remove hand tremor-induced blur when used with optical image stabilisation (OIS).

Rumour has it that the Realme 14 Pro comes in two striking colours: Suede Grey and Pearl White; storage choices go from 8GB RAM/128GB to 12GB RAM/512GB. Although there is no formal confirmation on the release date of the Realme 14 Pro series, expectation points to it maybe showing in the next weeks.

Oppo Reno 13 Series

Oppoโ€™s Reno 13 series is due to be released shortly, and it is likely to be a flagship product that blends cutting-edge design with strong performance. The series will most likely contain two models: the Reno 13 5G and the Reno 13 Pro 5G. The handsets will include a luxury metal frame and a one-piece sculpted glass back, as well as a novel triangle camera setup consisting of a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide lens.

One of the most interesting aspects of the Oppo Reno 13 series is its camera system, which boasts a 50MP front-facing camera that allows for clear and detailed selfies. Poco plans to launch the Poco X7 5G series in India on January 9, 2025. The new series will have two variants: the Poco X7 5G and the Poco X7 Pro 5G. Both smartphones will be only available on Flipkart, and early teasers show some intriguing design choices.

The Poco X7 5G will sport a centrally situated squircle back camera module, whilst the Poco X7 Pro 5G will have a pill-shaped camera island in the top-left corner. The standard model is slated to be available in silver and green, with the Pro variation featuring a dual-tone black and green design.

The Poco X7 Pro 5G is rumoured to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8400-Ultra chipset, while the basic X7 5G will use the Dimensity 7300-Ultra SoC. The Pro model will most likely feature a 6,000mAh battery that supports 90W fast charging, and the basic variant will have a 5,110mAh battery that supports 45W charging. The gadgets are rumoured to have a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.

Redmi 14C

Redmi is also planning to debut the Redmi 14C in early January 2025. The device, which has a 6.88-inch display and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, is reportedly a rebranded Redmi 14R. The screen will feature a resolution of 1640 ร— 720 pixels and a peak brightness of 600 nits, making it ideal for usage in bright environments.

The Redmi 14C will most likely have a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. A 5,160mAh battery that can handle 18W quick charging may power the smartphone. The Redmi 14C is a low-cost option that should provide acceptable performance without going over budget.
