Vivo Confirms V50's Design

Vivo Confirms V50โ€™s Design and Major Specifications, but Pricing Remains Undisclosed

Vivo is launching the V50, a premium mid-range smartphone, to India. The phone is likely to be released soon, especially since Vivo has disclosed its design and important specifications.

The V50 comes in three colorways: Rose Red, Starry Blue, and Titanium Grey, and has a similar look to the Vivo S20, which debuted in China last year. There is no indication on the pricing yet, but we wonโ€™t have to wait long because Vivo plans to launch the V50 in late February.

The phoneโ€™s launch webpage confirms some of the important specifications that were leaked only weeks ago. For example, the V50 has a cutting-edge 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS (optical image stabilization), which is supplemented by another 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and the companyโ€™s Aura Light LED ring lighting.

In addition, there is a 50-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. The camera system was co-engineered with Zeiss, which isnโ€™t surprising given Vivoโ€™s longstanding connection with the German optics business.

According to Vivo, the V50 is expected to be Indiaโ€™s slimmest smartphone in the 6,000 mAh battery category, which clearly implies that it would be powered by a 6,000 mAh battery.

Vivo also announced that the V50 will be water and dust resistant (IP68/IP69). The phone will arrive with Funtouch OS 15, which is based on Android 15. Interestingly, the Starry Blue edition of the phone has the companyโ€™s 3D-Star Technology, which gives the gadget a shimmering look reminiscent of the night sky.

According to earlier reports, the Vivo V50 would be equipped with Qualcommโ€™s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 CPU. The phone is believed to have a huge 6.67-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. The battery is also believed to allow 90W wired charging.
